A Member of the Harvard Medical School Facility, Dr. Davidson is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Davidson performs breast augmentation using his own personal technique. In contrast, to most plastic surgeons, Dr. Davidson does not cut or “release” the pectoral muscles where they attach to the breastbone or sternum. Instead, he stretches the muscle to provide room for the breast implants, thereby preserving muscle strength. To insure maximum safety and comfort for his cosmetic surgery patients, Dr. Davidson performs most cosmetic surgery procedures at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA (a Boston suburb) or another fully equipped hospital in the West Boston area.

An important part of every patient's breast augmentation procedure is a personal consultation with Dr. Davidson. Usually held at his Boston area practice, this consultation includes a detailed discussion of breast implant surgery including pre-operative preparation, anesthesia, alternative implant styles, incision choices, risks and possible complications and post operative care and follow up. This discussion follows an outline and a video presentation, which Dr. Davidson has prepared to ensure that all important breast implant information is discussed with the patient. Patients are invited to bring their spouse, significant other, close friend or parent with them to this visit to assist them in remembering this important information.
